Human Resources Advisor (Temporary 12-month contract)
We currently have a need for a capable HR Advisor to join us on a temporary 12-month basis to cover a period of maternity leave.
McArthur Agriculture is a successful business that has been established since 1999.
The business has grown significantly and is regarded throughout the agricultural industry as a market leader for its grain equipment and service.
We continue to grow the business and support the development of the people who are responsible for its success.We aspire to be recognised as the number one for the development, construction and maintenance of combinable crop storage and processing systems in the agricultural industry.
Position Summary
The primary role of the Human Resources Advisor is to advise and guide the Directors and Managers on all matters of human resources to ensure that a consistent and effective service continues during HR Manager's maternity leave
This will include:
- Support and coach line managers on all people processes and policy currently in place.
- Manage employee relations cases within the business whilst assisting and advising line managers with the required procedures.
- Maintain the HR management system and information.
- Support the ongoing development of a strong, positive culture.
- Human resources administration tasks, issuing letters, processing information and liaising with payroll as required.
- Support employees within the business with all HR related issues/queries as required.
Experience
- A proven track record of providing the delivery of HR functions to a high standard.
- A proven track record as a HR generalist and/or working at Advisor level.
- A CIPD qualification or equivalent occupational experience.
- Up to date knowledge of employment law.
- Experience in advising HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and advise line managers on best practice HR process and practices.
- Ensure that legal compliance is adhered to in the business, particularly in regards to Employment legislation.
- Effectively establish strong working relationships with managers and employees in the business.
- Be responsible for all HR management and development (including recruitment and selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, salary and conditions, contracts, training and development, performance appraisals and any other HR related issues).
- Monitoring absence and case work for long term sick colleagues, engaging with welfare meetings and occupational health where required.
- Monitor, measure and report on HR issues to the management team as required.
- Liaising with Company's HR Consultant (Stallard Kane) to ensure any new policy updates are implemented in the business.
- To facilitate as a mediator when required to try and resolve employee grievances.
- To report on key HR indicators established by the HR Manager.
- Ensure the HR electronic filing system is kept up to date and accurate.
Role Details
- Based at Normanby Gateway, Scunthorpe
- 12month temporary contract to cover a period of maternity leave. Starting in March 2023 ending in March 2024. Handover and training to take place with HR Manager prior to departure.
- 4 days per week, 8:00am to 5:00pm with 1hour unpaid break. Days to be confirmed.
- Salary: Full time equivalent salary is £28,000£30,000 per annum (pro rata is £22,400£24,000 per annum for 4 days/32 hours per week)
- Occasional travel to McArthur Agriculture's depots and site.
- Business expenses reimbursed
