The Digital payments & APM's Product Manager (PM) will develop the strategy and roadmap for Apple/Google Pay, APM's, Open Banking & BNPL propositions across all verticals.
The Product Manager must develop a deep understanding of the airline, hospitalityand travel agency verticals, build close relationships with key stakeholders, and define the business strategy, roadmap, pricing & go to market plans for all digital & APM's connected/developed on the Platform.
In addition, they will also be responsible fordomestic scheme connections and building a roadmap across all integrations.Responsibilities
Understand Market & Customers:
- Identify customer needs from each vertical merchants to inform the product vision with key input from customers, sales, partnerships, legal etc.
- Conduct research to identify potential partner integrations who will help accelerate their growth in each of the verticals
- Work closely with the partnerships team to build close relationships with their industry partners such as APM aggregators, Apple/Google, Open Banking platforms as well as BNPL providers
- Analyse requirements across all verticals and ensure there is a cohesive value proposition across all payment methods
- Develop an understanding of the markets their customers operate in, domestic schemes that need to be supported and build a roadmap
Develop Acceptance Partnerships Strategy & Roadmap:
- Define a strategic vision for their APM & digital payments required to accelerate growth across each of the verticals
- Develop a product roadmap of integrations required to ensure they support the right functionality
- Define a pricing strategy across these payment methods to maximise revenue
- Work closely with the customers, customer verticals, sales & marketing teams to gather market intelligence, requirements & build a roadmap
- Identify key domestic schemes that need to be supported in order to accelerate transaction growth
- Provide thought leadership and position their client in the sector
- Work with Marketing to deliver thought leadership and communicate to the market
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Generate preliminary list of features including customercentric, business mandatory (e.g., compliance, billing, etc.), nonfunctional requirements (e.g., metrics, tech debt, etc.)
- Work with product owners to define epics and detailed user stories (including user outcomes, solutions, etc.
- Prioritize based on effort and impact on product goals including calculated tradeoffs on technical debt and nonfunctional requirements
- Socialize product roadmaps and align timelines with relevant stakeholders in the planning process
Measure and Scale:
- Drive user testing and retro/reviews of beta, pilot, and full releases
- Track and report customer usage and product/business performance (including for possible partner products managed)
- Drive continuous optimization and improvements in the product based on analytics/insights
- Refine outline of next sprint/release and goforward optimization plan, if needed
Iterative Development:
- Iterate on solutions, epics, user stories, prototypes (update PRDs as needed)
- Iterate on design and test with users (concepts, wireframes, prototypes, finalized screens)
- Set acceptance criteria for features and go/nogo criteria for solution gotomarket
- Define high level sprint goals using performance against service level objectives as key inputs
- Define Story/Task level product requirements
- Demonstrate new features and nonfunctional requirements to stakeholders/team
- Prior experience working as a Product Manager within the payments industry
- Have a good understanding of digital payments and alternative payment methods
- Have experience developing the product vision and roadmap
- You'll be able to assist with a smooth, collaborative go to market plan
