Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts and management information.
  • Responsibility for the safeguarding obligations of the Company.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the Company acts in compliance with relevant regulatory and legal obligations to ensure the safeguarding of client funds.
  • Preparation of information for the management of cash and Treasury activities.
  • Ensure compliance reporting to external bodies.
  • Supervise the research and implementation of accounting processes and systems.
  • Manage finance staff.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with group deadlines and the requirements of the Company's Board.
  • Monthly review of all Balance Sheet reconciliations, with appropriate actions on outstanding items.
  • Prepare bad debts reports for risk management in accordance with company policy.
  • Preparation of annual plan, quarterly forecast and 3 year strategic plan in line with the business manager.
  • Prepare report for group treasury with regard to funding requirements.
  • Produce relevant reports to enable strategic decisions be taken on interest rate management.
  • Review current accounting and operational system with a view to integration and enhancement.
  • Ensure the integrity of the Company's reporting data both to internal and external users.
  • Production of statutory accounts. Ensure adherence to compliance requirements To comply with the FCA'
  • Fitness and Probity Standards and to notify the Company of any instances of noncompliance.
  • To faithfully and diligently undertake and perform such duties and exercise such powers, authorities and discretion in relation to his/her position as a Financial Controller of the Company and its business as the Chief Executive and/or management may fromtime to time assign to or delegate to or vest in him/her.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Open to learning situations and possess a strong selfawareness and willingness to change.
  • Possesses the technical and functional competency required to perform the role to a high level of accomplishment.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification or relevant experience, ideally with knowledge of Treasury and banking.
  • The ability to assess the effectiveness of the Company's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, to oversee changes in these areas.
  • Awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Company and the role the Financial Controller has in managing them.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to think big picture as well as focus on the detail.
  • Understands industry trends and anticipates business changes and their implications for the Company.
  • Strong understanding of new and existing markets and develops strategic partnerships with customers/clients to enable and facility innovation.
  • Ability to interpret the Company's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • The ability to assess the effectiveness of the Company's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, to oversee changes in these areas.
