- GPhC registered Pharmacist
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Independent prescribing qualification (or working towards one)

Specialist Oncology/ Haematology Pharmacist, Private Care Band 8, Full time 37.5 Hour per week Based at Chelsea (but with regular cross-site responsibilities) An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed pharmacist to help lead the private care pharmacy team to deliver a first-class service for our private care patients at The Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH). You will be at the forefront of new and innovative treatments, working closely with world renowned experts who are leading the way in many areas of oncology and haemato-oncology. There will be the opportunity to become involved with the pharmaceutical management of patients with complex haemato-oncological malignancies including those requiring CAR-T therapy and stem cell transplants. Main duties of the job This role provides the clinical leadership of the pharmacy provision to private care patients undergoing systemic anticancer therapy (SACT), surgery, bone marrow transplants as well as several other treatments at the Royal Marsden.This role will work with the key stakeholders within pharmacy, nursing and medicine to support the delivery of these services, focussed on continually improving outcomes and experience for our patients. a) To support, and deputise for the principal pharmacist to lead, strategically co-ordinate and evaluate a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the Private care directorate in order to ensure safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines to these patients.
b) To provide and co-ordinate the delivery of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care, contributing to the multi-professional team through day unit pharmacy services and attendance at appropriate clinicians clinics and meetings.
c) To support prescribing at the individual level, contributing to the optimisation of the individual patients drug therapy with due consideration to risk/benefit issues and, where appropriate, participate in non-medical prescribing clinics.
d) To communicate effectively with all healthcare professionals to ensure the safe, clinically effective use of drugs to private patients.
e) Identify any systematic or preventable errors associated with medicines used and facilitate learning.
f) To proactively develop clinical pharmacy services in the private care setting in line with local and national objectives. Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential
