    WHAT TO EXPECT

    As a Vehicle Configuration and Test System (VCATS) Engineer with Global Manufacturing Engineer (GME), you will be responsible for implementing the vehicle diagnostic processes into the JLR Trim & Final Assembly lines in support of the new vehicles, features &functions expected from our customers.

    In this role, you will be expected to influence the product design to ensure that it is feasible, safe to assemble and efficient. In pursuit of these goals, you'll have the opportunity to develop & deploy new software & hardware tools, in combination with IT solutions, both in-house and with suppliers.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    To be successful in this role, you will be required to define, create, and maintain in the relevant test systems, the key Test Processes standards within the Bill-of-Test framework. As well as this, you'll need to showcase your ability to validate the Test Processes (Test sequences) prior to release to the customer Engineering Integration, T&F Production Line and act as the VCATS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the allocated commodities.

    Further duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess the Engineering defined Manufacturing T&F Configuration and Test Requirements, challenging requirements to ensure they are optimised to achieve the VCATS, Programme & Enterprise targets.
  • Participate in VCATS Teams in the implementation (deployment) of the test processes and tools into the target plants.
  • Develop the Test Process standards in collaboration with the stakeholder teams through the understanding of the deviations necessary in the individual plants.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    Essential:

  • Relevant previous experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Software Engineering processes, tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Vehicle Configuration and Test Systems (VCATS).
  • Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours.
  • Demonstrable ability to create detailed and effective action plans.
  • Relevant previous experience with Scrum framework.
