Strawson Ltd is a third-generation family owned business based in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire growing and packing root vegetables for major retail customers.
We are a strong, professional and open business committed to our customers, staff and care for the environment.We are seeking to strengthen our team by recruiting an additional 4 Line Leaders to support our Production team.
As a Line Leader at Strawsons, you will be working within the Production Department to ensure smooth and efficient production on the factory floor, as well as being involved in setting up the packing machines.

- Ensuring that daily start up checks are done, and the machine is set up and ready to start at the beginning of the shift
- Work towards the plan provided by Planning Manager, to ensure maximum performance and minimum downtime, meeting orders set by customers
- Monitoring line speed and KPIs
- Addressing issues when they arise, and dealing with this efficiently, aiming for minimum disruption to production
- Ensuring all relevant company procedures are adhered to
- Ensuring all relevant paperwork is kept up to date
- Ensuring that quality checks are completed. E.g. bag checks, seal checks
- Completing the daily production book, recording results of machine checks
- Printing labels for pallets, using inhouse software
- Printing tray end labels
- Providing appropriate training to Production Operatives within the packing area
- Navigating internal systems, to find the relevant reports needed for production
- Ensuring the packing film being used is correct as per the production plan
- Communicating with Forklift Drivers to transport film from the warehouse to be installed on the machine when required for film changes
- Proactively supporting continuous improvement
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and clean as you go

Must have excellent attention to detail
Good basic IT skills, must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel
The ability to problem-solve and lead the team
Good communication abilities at all levels
The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Good multi-tasking skills
Confident, professional and tenacious
Ensuring right first time culture
Previous experience in a similar role within food production
Good standard of English and Maths
Adaptable and open to experience potential new workplace situations

WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday, start time 6.30am. 40 hours per week - overtime available

£11.72 per hour
