    Job summary

    Kelvedon and Feering Health Centrehas an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on apart-time basis to provide holiday and sickness cover. Whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be given.

    There is more to this receptionist role than answering the phone and making this essential front-line role at the practice, you will help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.

    Main duties of the job

  • Greeting and directing all patients;
  • Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required;
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
  • Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
  • Advising patients of practice procedures;
  • Registering new patients;
  • Answering the telephone, promptly.

    We are a small but busy SystmOne practice and have a practice population of approximately 7,600 patients. Our CQC rating is have an incredibly supportive administrative/reception team with good management systems in place.

    Person Specification

    We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:

    Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
  • Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
  • Experience of working with the general public is desirable;
  • Ability to be sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
  • Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet";
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
