Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic
37.5 Hours per week
An exciting position has arisen to join the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (POAC) at Northampton General Hospital. This is a full-time post at 37.5hours per week. The hours of work are generally Monday to Friday in Northampton Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic 8.00am-variable finishing times.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Healthcare Assistant to work in this busy clinic area to support the senior nurses and Anaesthetics Clinicians in providing high quality care to patients in POAC.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Taking Observations:
i.e. temperature, pulse, oxygen saturations, weight, height and BMI.
The HCA needs to be able to perform MRSA screening and Electrocardiography (ECGS) if requested.
Act upon any abnormal observations / results immediately
Provide clear and concise written documentation of results and observations as per Trust guidance.
Report any concerns / incidents relating to patient or environment health and safety to a registered nurse / healthcare practitioner.
