Description
Domestic assistant - based in Penn area -working in a care home with 29 bedrooms


Responsible to:
Registered manager/ Assistant manager


Purpose of Position
To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home.


To keep a high standard of appearance to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle afforded to each care user.

This is particularly applicable to each care user's privacy and dignity and in respect of each care user's personal possessions.


Principal Responsibilities
To be directly responsible to the domestic supervisor.

To clean all allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.

To be aware of the health and safety statement and of the COSHH statement.

To clean sanitary and other equipment, with particular attention to guidelines for the control of germs and infestation.


To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures.

To deal with the waste bags and their prescribed disposal.

To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Follow and comply with appropriate infection control policies and procedures within the home to maintain effective and safe work areas within the service users room and communal areas so that they are clean, safe and free from hazards reporting of any potential risks identified including:

  • Effective hand washing using the 5 moments of hand hygiene
  • Wear disposable personal protective equipment where appropriate
  • Reporting and treatment of sharps injuries
  • Assist patients and colleagues in adopting sound infection control measures

Job Type:
Part-time. weekend off weekend on


Salary:
£9.50 -£9.65 per/hour or national min wage

normal shift time: 8.30am to 1.30pm or 8am to 1pm
