    Cancer Services are looking for an experienced and exceptional personal assistant to support the senior management team which includes, Macmillan Transformation Lead: Cancer, Macmillan Lead Nurse; Cancer and Palliative Care and the Lead Clinicians for Cancer whilst being flexible in the support of other senior manages across the service.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Personal Assistant to support the Cancer Services senior management team. You will have previous experience as a secretary or Personal Assistant. It is essential that you have strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases along with advanced typing qualifications/skills.

    You will provide a comprehensive, effective and professional PA administrative support to the Cancer Services senior management team. Your role is crucial within Cancer Services; its important that you are flexible, be able to act on your own initiative and work both independently and as part of the team.

    Main duties of the job

    Additionally, as the PA support you will be predominantly office based and your duties will include ut are not limited to undertaking the following activities:

  • Provide secretarial support including clerical and information technology support to the Cancer Services management team.
  • Administer electronic outlook diaries of members of the collaborative management team such as making appointments, and assembling the appropriate documents in preparation for meetings. Invite personnel from within the Trust and from external organisations to attend when required.
  • Utilise excellent communication skills and responsibility for handling confidential and sensitive information and redirecting to the appropriate deputising manager using good judgment.
  • Plan and manage own time effectively and work unsupervised on a daily basis.
  • To process orders and invoices when required.
  • Attend senior meetings, taking and distributing minutes as required. Co-ordinate agendas and invite personnel for discussion/presentation of projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications at all levels throughout the service, Trust and with external trusts/agencies.
  • Deal with general enquiries from members of staff, external bodies and members of the general public in a polite, professional manner and take messages as appropriate.
  • Act as a host to visitors in the collaborative when required.
  • Undertake any other relevant administrative tasks that may be required for the effective running of the service

    Leadership and Improvement Training

    South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
