Overview:


We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the Integrated Commissioning Service in a unique role as we work to transform the way we purchase care and support for adults with health and social care needs in Buckinghamshire.

Buckinghamshire is in the process of recommissioning two of its largest areas of care and support through the development of new procurement frameworks called Dynamic Purchasing Vehicles (DPV).


Please note this is a temporary role on a 12-month fixed term basis but may offer the possibility of extension.

This is a full-time role but substantial part time will also be considered (approximately 4 days a week).

About the role:


This is a new role, offering support to the Specialist Commissioning Manager leading on this work and will form part of the commissioning resource for the wider Procurement Vehicle Project Team (Procurement, Legal, Finance, Health, and Social Care colleagues).

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the system to develop, innovate and implement positive change for the people of Buckinghamshire.


_ Home Care Recommissioning_


The home care DPV is due to go out to tender imminently and initially you will support with the tender process, mobilisation, and implementation of the DPV ready for go live in early 2024.


_ Residential and Nursing Care Recommissioning_
Later in 2023, we will be commencing work on the recommissioning of residential and nursing care.

This role will support with the early stages of the recommissioning process, including producing a needs analysis, provider engagement and DPV design.


About you:


  • Experience working in the health and social care sector or a local authority, preferably with a commissioning background, or can demonstrate strong knowledge of those sectors with transferable skills
  • Experience of supporting with procurement exercises or commissioning projects
  • Experience of working on crossdepartmental/crossorganisational projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with providers
  • Analytical, able to research, interpret and present data from a range of sources
  • Strong written communication skills including report writing for different audience types
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple areas of work concurrently with success
  • A competent user of all Microsoft packages in particular Excel

Additional desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the home care or residential care provider market
  • Experience of supporting the implementation and mobilisation of new contracts

Any-Desk:


As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required.

You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.
