    Description

    Job Summary

    We are searching for dependable, adaptable, and highly motivated individuals who take satisfaction in their work to work as Domestics Assistants at Gateshead. The primary responsibilities revolve around maintaining cleanliness in the patient environment. Tasks may also include assisting with food and beverage service in the patient area.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Perform daily, weekly, and routine cleaning, including cleaning all floor surfaces, paintwork, internal glass, fixtures, and fittings as per QE Facilities Policy
    • Manage and dispose of waste materials following specified protocols
    • Conduct sanitary cleaning in all wet areas such as toilets, basins, baths, and shower cubicles
    • Ensure cleaning materials are stocked and available in designated areas
    • Address requests for additional cleaning promptly
    • Report building issues for necessary action
    • Prepare patient areas for meal service
    • Assist with collecting and washing up cutlery and crockery post-meal service
    • Aid in preparing and serving patient beverages under supervision
    • Change linens in on-call rooms and residential areas, and curtains in clinical spaces

    Ensure premises managed by QE Facilities Ltd reflect high standards of cleanliness, order, and well-being for patients and clients. Maintain cleanliness, report maintenance needs, and contribute to enhancing the patient experience.

    Person Specification

    Knowledge

    Essential

    • Upholding professional, supportive, and caring patient and client interactions
    • Collaborating effectively in a team environment
    • Strong personal organization and time management skills
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

    Desirable

    • Understanding of regulatory requirements for a Healthy & Safe environment
    • Familiarity with cleaning procedures and protocols

    Experience

    Desirable

    • Previous experience in a domestic role or healthcare setting

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Basic numeric and literacy skills
    • Ready to undergo job-related training

    Desirable

    • NVQ or similar certification
