Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person with good verbal and written communication skills to join a dedicated team within the Pathology Directorate.


The Bereavement Support Officer role is to provide a comprehensive administrative support for the bereavement service including guidance to hospital doctors, GPs HM Coroners offices, registry, and mortuary staff, and ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Liaise with relatives giving relevant information, instructions, and advice in a sympathetic manner.

The post holder should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Training will be given where necessary for internal IT systems.


There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department.

To be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision and have a flexible approach to their duties.

The successful applicant will be expected to work Monday - Friday (12noon - 5 pm) including some Bank Holidays.
