Job Summary:
Kiwa IFC Certification is looking for an Inspector - Smoke Control to join the Certification team.

IFC Certification is an independent UKAS accredited provider of high-quality, customer focused, third party certification in support of fire safety and security.

This role will involve conducting and reporting on Installation Contractor Office Quality Audits & Site Audits (inspections) as part of the IFCC Installer Certification Scheme.

About the role:

  • The job requires the ability to plan and organize day to day activities involving administrative, investigative, inspection, auditing, measuring, and reporting skills
  • Liaison with clients on office system and site installation requirements for installer certification in support of the IFCC scheme and any other relevant requirements
  • Conduct initial and surveillance audits of clients' office systems and site installation work as required in accordance with BS EN ISO 17065 and IFCC scheme
  • Carry out site inspections of buildings in accordance with clients' specific requirements and ISO/IEC 17020.
  • Report inspection findings in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020.
  • The nature of the job requires a flexible approach, the ability to work on one's own and to work irregular hours as the need arises
  • Willingness to work in a team environment to cross cover for other Engineering work within IFC Group as necessary.
  • Other activities as required by Senior Management within the ethos of the Kiwa Group

Do you have what it takes?:

  • Smoke Control / Industry experience in a Project Management, Site Manager or Designer type role is also a preferred alternative, we would then coach you in the skills required to be an Inspector
  • Full UK driving licence
