Overall Purpose

Whilst working as part of an integrated team, the General Operator is responsible for providing day to day assistance and support in respect of all routine and non-routine activities, ensuring company standards are met at all times

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Responsible for working flexibly across a range of tasks from packing, inspection and quickchips and ensuring that appropriate tasks are undertaken to maintain the smooth running of the lines
Collects and disposes of all waste materials
Within Quickchips, packs cartons of finished product into cases, according to product specification. Inspects filled cartons for foreign bodies and raise any noncompliance to area the Senior Operative
Carries out carton check weighing according to company procedure, completing any relevant documentation where necessary
Operates carton erector, loading flat packed cartons onto the magazine feed, ensuring manual handling and health and safety practices are followed at all times
Within inspection, monitors finished product going to packing to remove and report and foreign bodies found to area FLM
Ensures that, where appropriate, all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements
Reports all accidents, incidents, damage or near misses, whether caused, found or witnessed. Reports any faults or malfunctions to the area Senior Operative
Conducts appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out and ensures that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met
Ensure your personal safety and that of all personal including others who may be affected by the Company's activities
Challenge unsafe behaviours
Adhere to the duties required for your role within the Health and Safety policy
Promote and enforce behaviours and actions that will prevent all contamination threats to products whether physical, microbial or chemical
Escalate immediately reporting on the status of any noncompliance in the system or process to management for counter measure or immediate remedy
