Working hours will be 39 hours a week, based on 8 hours a day Monday to Thursday and 7 hours on Fridays, with an hour for lunch each day.

We specialise in wiring new homes for all the UK's leading housebuilders, including Barratt, Vistry, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey.

In the last year we've wired over 21,000 properties nationwide, expanding into the green energy sector, specialising in solar PV, EV charging and Air source heating.

Achieving this volume of installations requires a slick operation, not just out on site but also behind the scenes at our head office.

That's where you'll come in.

Based at our Anson Business Park premises in Staverton you'll join a team that's responsible for handling our quotations, contract negotiations, customer orders and invoicing, electrical drawings, and materials lists.

There's free parking on site and our offices are a short walk from the number 94 bus route between Cheltenham and Gloucester.


Responsibilities

  • You will be working towards your Business Administration Apprenticeship with Gloucester College by assisting in a range of duties relevant to your studies. You will also be set aside time to complete your studies.

On a typical day you will be you'll be answering calls from our site staff, resolving queries about active contracts, producing electrical layouts for future installs, and learning the basics of tendering for future work.

Our commercial teams look after anywhere between active contracts, meaning each day could bring a new opportunity to expand your learning.

During your apprenticeship you'll gain a broad understanding of what happens in a busy commercial department and you'll play an important role in assisting other team members.

In addition to this, you will also learn the basics of an electrical install, giving you a good foundation to be able to progress within the company.

There's a strong sociable spirit in our commercial team, it's very much a work hard, play hard culture so to make a real success of this opportunity you'll need to be someone who's willing to put the hours in when there's a deadline to meet but also keen to get involved when it's time have a bit of fun whether this be attending a summer social, Christmas party or team building event.


Required Experience

  • You'll need to have GCSE English and maths (grades 94) or equivalent in order to be accepted onto the Business Administration Apprenticeship programme.

After completing the apprenticeship there are plenty of opportunities for progression within Clarkson Evans, many of our senior managers and even some directors started out as apprentices.


Required Skills and Attributes

  • To be successful in the role, you'll need to be a team player with a naturally flexible approach and plenty of common sense. You'll also need the confidence to speak to customers on the phone and you must be someone who genuinely pays close attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right first time. As well as having strong Microsoft Office skills, you'll need to be a quick learner who'll adapt to using our inhouse software and company processes.
