Role:

As Assistant Grower, you will report to the Head Grower and help oversee the greenhouse facility's crop-growing activities.

You will also be in control of the greenhouse's upkeep, including the methods and principles of plant cultivation, propagation, andpreservation.

This role includes monitoring personnel, giving directions, overseeing, and training as needed.

Other headline accountabilities will include:

Identifying the plants and their problems (diseases, pests, and others).
Planning, organizing, and/or coordinating activities of workers engaged in propagating, cultivating, and harvesting.
Coordinating biological control departments to monitor pest and disease levels.
Supervision of labour, assignment of tasks and coaching workers.
Ensuring all SOP's are followed and enforced, ensuring strict crop hygiene practices are followed and enforced.
Maintaining records on crop growth data (weekly crop report, climate report, production, etc.).

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have some greenhouse experience as well as general horticulture educational qualifications. Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills are required for interactions with team members andcustomers. Adaptability and multitasking skills; previous experience working in a fast-paced setting.
