Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who are seeking a Quality Control Engineer to work within their QHSE Department.

Along with producing the highest quality of components, our client offers front-end consultancy, prototyping, and in-house testing. They accompany these services with cutting-edge scientific research.

Staffed by a wholly independent team of engineers andscientists, our client provides products to meet both the current and future needs of the petro-chemical industries.

This role will be based at our premises in Ely, just north of Cambridge.


Main duties include:

  • Undertake goods inwards, inprocess and final inspections.
  • Verification of certification and technical documentation.
  • Resolution of nonconformances and implementation of improvement actions.
  • Maintain inspection records.
  • Undertake conformance monitoring.

Skills and experience required:

  • Must have previous experience in a quality control role and be able to read and understand engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring and test equipment.
  • Detail conscious.
  • Good time management and an ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Proficient in SAGE and Microsoft Office.


You must hold a driving license and be willing to travel to suppliers premises to undertake pre-release inspections as required.
