Managing flood, coast and asset risk for people and the environment through effective leadership and collaboration to achieve climate resilience.

Our professional project management community are working on over 200 business change and technology projects to help achieve this goal.

This role will sit in our newly strengthened Portfolio Management Office, reporting to the PMO Delivery Manager.

We are committed to developing our team and this role is the perfect way to gain experience and training in a complex, dynamic portfolio environment that makes a real difference to people and the environment.

The role is varied and draws on a diverse range of transferrable skills.

You will help with financial management, change control, portfolio planning data, developing and creating reports and dashboards, monitoring risks and issues, record management, piloting new ways of working and providing delivery support to the team.

You will develop the skills you need to enable successful project delivery as part of an active professional project delivery community.

Responding to incidents is a central and important part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and will include full training.

Alternative working arrangements and full support will be available to enable you in your incident role, we are happy to answer any questions you may have on this.

  • Experience/skills required

  • We are looking for someone who has:

Essential:

  • Experience of handling and assimilating large volumes of data, ensuring consistency and quality, and following established good practice processes and ways of working
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and willingness to work in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
  • A high level of digital literacy ability to use the full suite of Microsoft products, and capable of learning to use new project and portfolio management tools
  • A proactive individual with an initiativebased approach to working in a fastpaced environment
  • Problem solving skills to tackle routine issues and escalate appropriately
  • A desire to develop themselves and an interest in continually improving how we do things

Desirable:

  • Experience in a project, programme or portfolio management environment.
  • Formal training in project management (Prince 2 or APM Project Fundamentals)
  • Experience in building Power BIreports/dashboards
  • Contact and additional informationYou'll have an inclusive flood or environmental incident management objective in your development plan, so we'll support you to find an incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.
