Description

Our Investment DB Business Unit works with the trustees of defined benefit (DB) pension schemes, giving them expert investment advice.

We have an exciting opportunity to
join this Business Unit on a part-time basis (between 21 and 28 hours per week) as our Business Operations Executive.

What will your role look like?
As our Business Operations Executive you will play a key role within the Investment DB Business Unit.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across this Business Unit to ensure that they are able to deliver on their aims and priorities through having engaged people, strong finances, efficient processes and controlling key risk elements.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

  • Supporting the team's Head of Operations to drive key strategic people initiatives, including monitoring and preparing draft reports of progress against our DEI and CSR aims
  • Resource Planning, in understanding the resource requirements at each team level; identifying gaps and solutions and working alongside team leaders and proposition owners to inform recruitment decisions and future resource plans
  • Working closely with our Quality Assurance Group's chair to provide oversight of our 'selfaudit' plan delivery, prepare draft quarterly risk reporting, support with the delivery of required training and other project related support
  • Further project management of various strategic and operational initiatives such as the implementation of new systems, people initiatives and resourcing plans liaising with the wider Investment Team and firmwide peers where required

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience of working within a project, business operations or related role
  • Be a strong communicator, who enjoys building relationships and fostering cross team/department collaboration
  • Have the ability to influence and work with stakeholders across a range of levels
  • Possess strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Be selfmotivated and resilient, with the ability to use your initiative to complete tasks and to drive projects and initiatives forward
  • Have strong commercial and business awareness
  • Have experience of working with Microsoft 365 software, in particular the use of Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint (or similar programmes)

Though not a requirement, previous experience of working with SharePoint would be an advantage, as would experience of working within a financial services or client facing consultancy role.

A more detailed list of requirements for this position is included within the role profile, which is available on request.

In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:

  • A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged
  • On site mental health and wellbeing support
  • A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our awardwinning learning portal, Aspire.
  • Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day's leave to celebrate your birthday.
We are open to this role being based in either of our Scotland offices - Glasgow or Edinburgh.

And we offer hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments.

First stage interviews for this position will likely be held during the week beginning 18th March via MS Teams, with final stage interviews the following week in our Glasgow office.

We work alongside employers, trustees and financial services institutions, offering independent pensions, investments, benefits and risk consulting services, as well as data and technology solutions.

That's the who and the what. More important is the 'why'. The work we do may not always seem the sexiest. But it's difficult, it's complex, and it's important.

We help our clients, their employees, members and customers make decisions that have real and direct consequences on their financial futures.

For 100 years we've taken this responsibility seriously. Together, as a team and with our clients and partners, we're here to build better futures.
