    Description

    Job Summary:

Working within the Financial Wellbeing Platform you can play a pivotal role in the next stage of our transformation journey. The Platform's purpose is to create a leading experience to help our customers before, during and after financial difficulty. You can ensure we help them become more financially resilient and improve their overall financial wellbeing.

We aim to achieve this purpose through improving colleague tools, creating tools to allow customers to better handle their day-to-day finances, and by simplifying the Customer Financial Assistance (CFA) systems through an increased focus on Automation, DevOps, Cloud technologies and Rationalisation. Our aim is to generate a forward-thinking agile culture that supports CFA in delivering high quality, efficient and positive impact outcomes for our customers.

The Software Engineer aims to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended. This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a "player-coach" model.

You'll join our dynamic Black Horse team in Chester who are passionate about new ways of working and new ideas.

    What's expected from you:

  • Lead in the migration of the current Motor Debt Manager system onto a new Cloud (SaaS) based Debt Manager 12 solution
  • Drive the success of the Engineering Config Chapter, across the Value Stream, by sharing your knowledge and experiences and grow the Chapter's capability through quality upskilling
  • Recognize the importance of quality and hence create and implement approaches, guidelines and principles defined by themselves and their Engineering and Chapter Lead peers
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, promoting a culture of collaboration across boundaries, where people can express themselves honestly
  • Make sense of sophisticated, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to optimally tackle problems
  • Knowledge & Experience expected:

  • Business Rules – This development brings to life the various functional aspects of our systems to drive interaction between our colleagues and customers. It also supports our colleagues in servicing customer needs. A highly developed knowledge of how our strategic platform is configured is important.
  • Understanding how to work with Cloud solutions (particularly SaaS) is important.
  • Strong SQL skills are needed to query and analyse data on the database, ensuring our solutions meet the quality and outcome required.
  • Understanding of the CFA business & purpose is important.
  • Finally:

Whilst skills, knowledge and prior experience are important to us we want people who are highly motivated with an inquisitive and curious approach to work.

Our group values of Keeping it Simple, Making a Difference Together and Putting Customers First are at the heart of our ethos so a commitment to improvement, combined with adaptability, a love of learning, and a collaborative approach are critical to us.

At LBG, we're invested in your continual development. That's why we've fostered a collaborative learning environment that supports your career goals and encourages knowledge-sharing. Our inclusive culture offers you flexibility while helping you build the future you want.

On top of our team ethos we're genuine about both equal opportunity and our colleagues representing the communities we serve - developing and advancing the best in our people.

Ultimately, we care much more about the person you're, how you think and approach things, than a list of qualifications on a CV. So if even if you can't say 'yes' to all of the above, but you're self-motivated, passionate about delivering excellent solutions and interested in joining us at a critical and exciting time, then we'd love to hear from you...

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we're building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
