    About the team

    As a team, we are the guardians of the data and cash and the first line in managing data before it flows through the Swiss Re landscape. You will be part of an experienced and highly motivated team comprising of Technical Accountants handling reinsurance premium & claims accounts for the UK and Ireland market. Our responsibilities include regular interactions with our colleagues across the region and we collaborate daily to deliver the best outcomes and value to our clients.

    About the role

    As a Technical Accountant, you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of premium and claims data bookings and ensure correct procedures and controls are followed, including documentation, and evidencing of activity. You work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to own, manage, and drive client issues resolution.

    Key responsibilities

    • To create accurate financial accounting records by processing client data in accordance with agreed service standards.

    • Manage cash payments to and from clients, and ensuring compliance with treaty terms

    • Control and constantly seek to improve the quality of the data received and to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with partners and clients.

    • Monitor Missing accounts to ensure, where possible, they are received within treaty terms

    About you

    Your strength is willingness and ambition to take on new challenges and develop within role. You have good level of financial acumen with a desire to learn. You act as a team-player with willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit. You have ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment. You are great at multitasking and have experience from fast paced work environment.

    Essentials:

    • Strong analytical skills (understanding client data)

    • Accurate and numerate with excellent attention to detail.

    • Accomplished interpersonal and communication skills – demonstrate a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication

    Nice to haves:

    • Ability to effectively use multiple software packages to analyse and process complex data. Ideal knowledge of all Microsoft packages with a deep understanding of Excel preferred.

    • (Re)insurance experience ideal but not always necessary as we are focused on developing and cultivating talent.

    • Basic understanding of KPI's/Metrics and the importance of these to drive the business forwards.
