This job requires reporting to a depot based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

At Green Spark we specialise in bespoke pollution prevention, drainage and environmental services with blue chip, multi-site organisations, particularly contract logistics, warehousing and FM providers.

We fix, audit, report, recommend and manage works to support our clients risk management and compliance.

The Role
We are dynamic growing company with an ambitious vision for the next 5 years.

To help us achieve this vision we are looking for a jet vac operator with experience in the drainage sector.

We carry out reactive emergency works, as well as pre-planned maintenance projects at sites across the country.

The work will include either working as a 2 person crew, or for smaller jobs alone, as well as being part of the wider engineering team to get each job completed.

Jet vac technology is used to remove blockages, sewage, grease, debris and silt from various waterways, vacuuming up material at a rate of 1,000 cubic feet per minute.

This powerful equipment needs to be handled carefully and responsibly, with suitable safe zones established and all the associated risks managed, especially when working in scenarios where severe flooding has occurred.

Because our jet vac services are often relied upon by clients facing extreme emergencies and serious problems, operators will need to be able to work efficiently and safely, while delivering a high standard of customer service to those facing difficult situations.

Drainage and flooding problems can often be extremely distressing for those affected, and our customers depend on us to handle their cases with empathy, patience and supportiveness.

The 24/7 nature of our service offering also means that there is plenty of opportunity to earn more through enhanced payments at weekends where we are required to respond to an emergency callout at short notice.

The role predominately includes:

Servicing interceptors and and pump stations
Some cleaning with high pressure water jetting and vacuuming
Removal and safe disposal of waste

The ideal applicant must be a good team worker, punctual, flexible, hardworking, polite, presentable and enthusiastic.

Required
At least a Class 2 HGV driving licence

Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

Desirable
Up-to-date Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Experience in the drainage sector.

Salary
Hourly rate of up to £17.50 per hour depending on qualifications, experience and a successful probationary period.

Generous overnight allowance plus, mobile phone allowance, plus enhanced payments for being on standby and any subsequent overtime worked at a weekend.

Our clients are based across the UK therefore you may be required to be away from home for up to 4 nights per week.

Expected hours: 40 to 50 per week.
