    About The Role

    We are looking to offer an Apprentice Plant Technician the opportunity to join our expanding Compliance and Service team based in Stevenage .

    We will be holding an assessment day in July 2024 and you'll need to be available to attend to progress with your application. The start date for the apprenticeship is in September 2024 and you'll need to be available to start on the programme at this point.

    Please see below hourly rates for the role based off age: 21 and over - £11.44 per hour18 to 20 - £8.60 per hourUnder 18 - £6.40 per hour

    About the role

    You will be working alongside qualified and highly experienced members of staff, many of whom would have started their careers as an Apprentice just like you. You will have a dedicated mentor assigned who will help you maximize your potential by sharing your knowledge.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to gain recognised and accredited qualifications whilst you earn and gain a vast amount of experience within a highly respected company.

    At the end of the 36 month programme, you will gain a level 3 Land Based Service apprenticeship as well as all the necessary experience and skills needed to excel within your role.

    As the Apprentice Plant Technician, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and service repair activities to our fleet of Plant vehicles & equipment
  • Faults diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete work via a PDA device to ensure daily electronic work records are up to date
  • Undertake minor and major repair works as directed
  • Communicate with the workshop team
  • Ensure that all M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions `Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality`(SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working, logging and completing jobs on your electronic devices

  • You will have a basic level of numeracy and literacy. Candidates who have not achieved these grades will be considered however you will be required to undertake Functional Skills Level 1 as part of the apprenticeship programme, which is equivalent to GCSE qualifications.
  • You possess a high degree of manual dexterity and an interest in working with machinery
  • Apprenticeship Development Scheme

  • As an Apprentice within MGroup Services PFS, you will undertake both a technical programme as well as our internal EU Skills endorsed Apprenticeship Development Scheme (ADS) programme.
  • The ADS programme is a blend of online and face to face sessions, involving soft skills development and mental health/pastoral care support. Some elements of the scheme are residential, which will take place in England; applicants must be prepared to travel and stay away from home as required
  • The remainder of your time will be spent with our training provider or under supervision on site
  • Whilst on your apprentice programme, your travel to and from the providers' locations, hotel accommodation and all meals will be fully paid for
