Overview


We are embarking on a build out of our core data model, reporting suite, data marts and data science data sets.

Your role will be to guide and design the data models for the most efficient and easy to use experience for the different types of data consumers.

You will take an active role in project workstreams from an early position through to completion contributing solution design, architectural standards and practices and technology adoption.

It is key that you can both model the big picture and get into thecode to help ensure the product is delivered to the best level possible.


Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Data modelling the core warehouse data entities and data marts for MI
  • Running workshops to understand the data entities from a business point of view to incorporate utility into the data design
  • Help our SQL Developers to build out the solution
  • Work with Technical and Business analysts to document and explain the design decisions
  • Help decide on the best data modelling principles and design and new data sources are incorporated into the data warehouse
  • Working closely with dev ops and engineering to develop ensure solutions are easy to release and manage
  • Proactively encourage and be involved in a culture of innovation within the department. Allow a healthy experimental environment with appropriate controls over direction and investment.

  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices

Experience & Personal Attributes
Academic & Trade Qualifications

  • Qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or related field.
Work Experience & Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Data Modelling Principles
  • Experience building data models for data warehouse and Management Intelligence solutions
  • Experience workshopping with business to inform design
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience developing ETL processes with large data sets
  • Understand database structures and conceptualise solutions to data problems, from the big picture down to writing code
