Regional Command, a 2* Headquarters is responsible for providing support to the British Army across the UK and overseas.

The UK based support is provided across multiple Garrisons and Stations and includes the provision of pay and documentation administrative support within Regimental Personnel Documentations offices across the UK.

These offices provide a wide remit of services within each area of responsibility of which encompass highly professional, vibrant and friendly staff.


These roles are responsible for providing a quality service in the provision of efficient and effective HR administrative support to military personnel serving within dependency units.

Key areas may include pay, allowances, documentation and Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) operation.

Their success has a direct impact on the lived experience of the soldiers and their dependants.


The Pay and Documentation Administration Support Officer role offers the opportunity to work within these dynamic & diverse teams delivering vitally important services.

We have 3 vacancies based at Aldershot Garrison, Aldershot and Wyvern Barracks, Exeter. However, we have identical roles across the UK. As a result of this, we are seeking interest across the following multiple locations.

York, Catterick, Donnington, Cottesmore, Shorncliffe, Upavon, and Brecon.

Job description:


The Pay and Documentation Administration Support Officer is the first line focal point for pay, documentation and other administrative issues.

The post-holder will provide advice and practical interpretation, to all levels of command in both verbal and written form, on current and future regulations surrounding pay and allowances.

As such they will have the opportunity to build relationships with their customers built on honesty and trust.

Person specification:


Duties include:


  • Maintain military pay and personnel records, including Personnel Files.
  • Process occurrences, effecting pay and personnel records, using the Joint Personnel Administration System.
  • Ensure that personnel of dependency units are at all times administratively prepared for operational deployment.
  • Assist and advise Service personnel on daytoday queries and on the use of JPA Self Service I Expenses Package.
  • Complete a monthly review of military pay statements, using JPA HR Admin responsibilities, to ensure that credits/charges are in accordance with personal circumstances and current regulations. Identify errors, initiate and monitor remedial action and keep effected individuals informed to successful resolution.
  • Provide an accurate and understandable information service to units and individuals in the areas of pay, allowances and terms and conditions of service.
  • Liaise with units and other Government agencies, including Army Personnel Centre, as may from time to time be required.
  • First line approver for JPA expense claims within delegated authority.
  • Any other administrative tasks as required.
