Our client is a leading engineering consultancy that works to deliver innovative technical solutions to make lives safe, secure, sustainable, and affordable.

They are looking for a Submarine Engineering Consultant to join their established team.

This team supports submarine platform safety through life, from

Concept such as Dreadnought and SSNR;

In-Service for Trafalgar, Vanguard and Astute Class submarines; and in

Decommissioning,


Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support to submarine projects, including concept phase, inservice, and decommissioning.
  • Produce Whole Ship Safety Case and Nuclear Safety Case documentation.
  • Author Naval Authority Certification submissions for key hazard areas.
  • Provide Quality Management advice to clients.
  • Support the upgrade and development of shore facilities and infrastructure.

Requirements:


  • Indepth knowledge of submarine ship and propulsion systems.
  • Minimum Cat B experience, Cat A2 preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to influence effectively.
  • Knowledge / experience of working in submarine support organisations.
  • Incorporated Engineer status preferred.
  • Knowledge of submarine safety cases and safety analysis techniques, including risk assessment and hazard management.
  • Understanding of the Regulatory interface and associated documentation.
  • Experience in the provision of Technical Assurance and Technical Governance.
