Based in Hillington, Glasgow Coughtrie International has been manufacturing luminaires for arduous environments since 1940.

Due to growth of the business, we are looking for dynamic Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to join our team.


Relentless focus on product excellence, on-time delivery and customer experience are at the heart of everything we do at Coughtrie.

As part of the ongoing marketing investment we have created a new and exciting position within our commercial team for a pro-active, ambitious marketing & social media coordinator.

You will have a marketing/social media background and a passion for working with industrial products. This role is for a graduate with 2-4 years' experience or new graduate looking for an internship.

You will stay up to date on social media developments, tools, trends, and technologies and understand design, photo/videography, and artwork.


Coughtrie is one of the last lighting manufacturers in Scotland, it has operated continuously from its Hillington facility since 1940.

Whilst we have been around a long time, we are a modern and growing business.


We are committed to manufacturing in the UK, and some 80% of our suppliers are located within 25 miles of the facility.

And we have been committed to sustainable products long before it became fashionable to do so, and continue to focus on this.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand our customers and markets
  • Inspire change and track our audience's understanding, awareness and engagement with our business
  • Work in collaborative groups with colleagues from different areas of the business such as design, customer service, sales and operations to create and deliver technical data sheets
  • Adhere with brand and photography guidelines to create marketing collateral for new products
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing strategy
  • Learn about the markets within which we operate and create an approach to extending into new markets
  • Think creatively and develop compelling messages and content
  • Produce productpositioning content including thought leader articles and videos
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to help position our new brand


  • Manage social media

  • Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.
  • Advertising responsible for marketing assets, presentations, brochures etc.

To be considered for this position, you must have:
A deep understanding of product marketing basics.

Marketing creativity

Preferably Product Marketing Content production experience

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong project management skills

Influencing skills and ability to thrive in a highly social, dynamic working

environment

Some experience with digital marketing, advertising and PR.

Understanding of web site planning & design.


Other desirable skills:


  • 4 A Levels or 4 highers with English and Maths at grade A or B
  • An industry related degree
  • Experience working in the Lighting / Electronic / Electrical industry is
preferred.
