About the Role

The Senior Portfolio Operations Analyst ('Analyst') will be part of the Cash Control team within Client Portfolio Technology and Operations department ('CPTO').

CPTO is a part of InvestTech which provides each of Wellington's investment teams with the data,controls, and support they need to ensure that their investment intent is accurately reflected in accordance with client regulatory and operational requirements.

Other teams within InvestTech include Portfolio Implementation, Portfolio Data, and PortfolioIntegrity.

The Analyst will be responsible for operational support within EMEA and driving key initiatives related to the accuracy of the firm's internal representation of client cash balances.

Many of the initiatives include working in a team setting and communicatingregularly with other groups within Portfolio Administration as well as vendors, Client Group, Portfolio Management, Fixed Income and Equity Trading teams, and Banks.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with key partners across InvestTech to assess nonworking balance and related process anomalies to remediate exceptions and ensure cash and accounting accuracy for investment teams
  • Support the efficient management of cash for our clients by being proactive and collaborating to develop solutions to realize efficiency gains and reduce overall operating risk posture
  • Lead and participate in both tactical and strategic initiatives relative to improving cash data and accounting workflows, with a focus on foreign exchange (FX) workflow improvement
  • Liaise with Investor, Client Service, Portfolio Accounting, and all internal stakeholders to support investment operations as an account controller
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the operating model through daily oversight of all primary Cash Control workflows including FX order reconciliation, execution, and processing, in addition to common cash impacting events such as overdrafts, TA Capstock,expense processing, and all related cash ledger events.
  • Assess and create control reports to allow for efficient and independent workflow management and rigor relative to controls
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to define and implement effective solutions to complex business challenges and/or process improvements
  • Provide guidance and expertise to Business Analysts and IT regarding development and requirements to support improved workflow tools
  • Review our accounting capabilities and make recommendations to refine service delivery to the investment teams by working with portfolio analyst in all sectors (Equity, Fixed, Alternative)

Qualifications

  • Extensive custody and accounting / recordkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange transactions and their impact on recordkeeping
  • Proven track record of initiating and managing change utilizing strong business judgment, risk analysis and risk mitigation techniques
  • Solid understanding of investment management operations and support practices
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational, interpretation and decisionmaking skills
  • Demonstrate strong business judgment, including the ability to synthesize multiple complex issues and effectively balance competing objectives
  • Dedicated, highly motivated and passionate professional with a strong service and investment orientation
  • Ability to think with vision and communicate concisely
