Accounts Senior - Glasgow
As a Senior in our Hotel Accounting business you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts and related reports for allocated hotel clients.
In order to provide a high standard of service to your clients we expect you to develop a strong understanding of their business, provide them with actionable insight and help drive efficiencies.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Full ownership of the monthly management accounting cycle for your clients
- Review the work of junior staff, and be willing to devote time to coach and develop them
- Work with the Technology Systems team to help design and implement innovative reports and dashboards for clients to access in realtime via smartphones and tablets
- Work closely with the Finance Operations team to ensure efficiency of the Purchase to Pay cycle and accurate recording of accruals and prepayments
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and audit requirements by maintaining robust controls
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, initiating ideas to develop processes and controls.
- Liaise with auditors during clients' external audits.
- Analysis of KPI's & metrics as required by clients and company management
- Dealing with ad hoc queries from hotel clients on top of BAU work
- part-qualified (ACCA preferred but ICAS/CIMA or equivalent can also be considered)
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant practical work experience
- Proactive selfstarter with ability to problem solve
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of Excel skills would be very advantageous
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Organising and prioritising work to meet reporting deadlines
- Experience of Navision or other ERP systems highly desirable
