I am Lisa Reid, Corporate Director - Quality Assurance and Safeguarding and I am excited to offer the opportunity to become our National and Regional Lead for the Pathfinder Programme in Dorset.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving forward an innovative initiative aimed at transforming services for children and families.


What you can expect to be doing:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Pathfinder Programme implementation in Dorset, ensuring alignment with national objectives and local priorities.


Collaborate with key stakeholders, including local authorities, government agencies, community organizations, and service providers, to build strong partnerships and ensure effective coordination of efforts.

Develop and execute a comprehensive implementation plan, including the identification of key milestones, targets, and performance indicators.


Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure the successful delivery of the Pathfinder Programme.


Monitor and evaluate the progress of the programme, conducting regular reviews and implementing necessary adjustments to maximize outcomes and impact.

Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and learning within the team and across the wider stakeholder network.

Represent the Pathfinder Programme at national and regional forums, conferences, and events, showcasing its achievements and promoting collaborative learning.


About you:

You will have a degree in social work with a strong safeguarding background.

Significant experience in leading and managing complex projects or programmes within the social care or children's services sector.


Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the child welfare landscape, with knowledge of current policy frameworks and best practice.

Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders, policymakers, and frontline practitioners.

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision and objectives into practical action plans.

Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of motivating teams to achieve ambitious goals.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, enabling effective engagement and collaboration with a range of audiences.


A passion for improving outcomes for children and families, and a commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.

This post is funded for a 2-year fixed period through our Pathfinder programme.
