Description
There is an exciting opportunity to join our team as in the Families and Integrated Community Care Division. This up to 25 PA's, full time and part time posts to support the recently developed neurodevelopmental pathway as the team continues to ensure the delivery of high-quality regional level key performance indicators for families on the pathway.
The post holder will also attend the child developmental centre twice a week, contributing to the pre-school age service and therefore offering a varied clinical caseload as part of this exciting new opportunity.
Our paediatric team has got a strong reputation of providing both undergraduate and postgraduate training. Our team hosts both MRCPCH and DCH examinations on yearly basis and you will be encouraged to develop as an examiner for Royal Colleges.
Candidates must be fully registered with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion on the register within six months of the interview date for the post.
The post advertised is a newly created role that backfills existing Community Consultant activity as the team has been re-organised to meet the requirements of the Neuro-developmental (ND) pathway.
The postholder will therefore take part in the range of activities needed to serve a geographical catchment, allowing community-based building of strong inter-professional and organisational relationships.
Our delivery of the Neuro-developmental pathway has been recognised by our partners and commissioners and this led to the creation of this role to continue the high quality multi-agency child focussed assessment and support work that it delivers.
There is no on call component in this role, although there may be some responsibility for acute safeguarding assessments along with the wider team and during working hours on a rota basis in the future, subject to appropriate job planning.
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.
Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade.
Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.
The Appointee will be predominately responsible for community based paediatric care within the Blackpool area. There will be 2 clinics within the Child Development Centre (Bleinheim house) with associated administration. The goal would be that the caseload in these clinics would be based on the Bmove out into school aged servicesReferrals for children within this catchment will be accepted, as well as specific referrals on the Neuro-developmental pathway from these same schools with support of the central ND admin and clinical team.
