UE07 £36,333 - £43,155 Per Annum

College of Science & Engineering / School of Engineering / Institute for Energy Systems**
Full time, 35 hours per week
**Fixed Term, 24 Months

We are looking for Post-doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) with expertise in Applied Superconductivity and Electrical Machines, to become part of a team to develop a novel fully air-cored superconducting electrical machine.


The Opportunity:


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in Applied Superconductivity with some experience of Electrical Machines.
  • Experience of electromagnetic modelling of superconducting coils in COMSOL or similar.
  • Experience of setting up and using cryogenic equipment for testing superconducting materials and coils.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience of presenting at conferences, and to senior engineers industry, as well as writing technical reports and publishing papers.
  • The ability to be creative and flexible whilst working as part of a team as well as independently.
