Payroll & HR Administrator

Hertford - office based role


As Payroll Administrator, you will have full responsibility to manage and process company payroll and in addition support the HR Manager and the HR team to deliver a professional, highly responsive and customer focused HR administration service.


This is a fixed term contract role for approx months, working from their Hertford office and offers a salary up to £30,000 dependent on experience.


Payroll

  • You will be responsible for processing monthly payroll accurately and within the required timelines, whilst verifying and validating data and setting up new starters and processing leavers
  • Attention to detail is key for this role as you will be required to reconcile payments, including pension payments and any out of cycle payments, calculate, check and process contractual sick pay including elements of statutory sick pay and highlight tothe HR team any individuals reaching limits in advance to assist with necessary support
  • Excellent customer service skills must be demonstrated at all times, as you'll be liaising with internal management, employees, HMRC resolving any payroll issues or queries and actively engage with payroll provider to research solutions and communicateand communicate this to the team
  • Weekly you will check and process maternity/paternity/adoption pay and other statutory payments and annual processes
  • You'll run various weekly and monthly reports, such as sickness, annual leave and holiday pay, highlighting and resolving any issues

HR Administration

  • You will manage and issue access control cards for new starters and replace lost cards and update and run new starter and leaver report
  • You'll have an opportunity to work closely with the HR team, supporting with HR processes by actively engaging with initiatives and supporting process implementation
If you have a background in payroll, then this could be just the role for you. You must have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, with experience using pivot tables and VLook-ups.

You must be able to work to deadlines and follow process and procedures.
