Full time Behaviour for learning assistant required at a Pupil referral unit

Tradewind Recruitment are working closely with a specialist setting in Sheffield catering to children in Key Stage 2 and 3 with complex emotional and social needs, many of whom have a diagnosis of Autism or ADHD.


We are seeking an experienced and nurturing learning support assistant to work within classes of no more than 8 or 9 students at a time.

The role will include supporting pupils with all aspects of the curriculum as well as nurturing pupils emotional andsocial skills.


Enrichment activities feature heavily in the curriculum to help to engage the pupils, these involve music, art and activities taking place outside of the classroom such as gardening and animal care.

There is an expectation that the appointed person willalso support students with these activities.

The successful person should have experience supporting children with complex needs and be confident dealing with challenging behaviour. A Team Teach qualification or similar would be highly beneficial although this is something we can support with.


A Teaching assistant qualification would be beneficial to this role but not essential as prior experience in a similar setting is most important.
