You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone Job description Job responsibilities The role will be to ensure patients triage is undertaken promptly to allow for investigations to be carried within a timely manner. This may involve telephone consultations and desktop triage. Facilitating straight to test/appointments to assist in the delivery of results to the patient within the 28 days. The role will support compliance against the 28 days and 62 days standard for Cancer Waiting Time (guidance, working autonomously and in collaboration with colleagues, proactively identifying potential and actual risks for non-compliance with the pathway, instigating mitigating actions or escalating as appropriate.
As part of this you will be required to request investigations which could include diagnostic imaging, outpatient clinics and endoscopy. In some cases it will be the responsibility of the FDT, to inform patients of benign findings within in a timely fashion, to meet the 28 day diagnosis requirements. For patients with results highlighting a cancer or potential cancer, you will work closely with cancer services and the speciality specific teams to ensure a swift transition to the responsible team Person Specification Qualifications Essential
