Salary/Hours:
Starting at
£28,695 - £31,291 pa Pro Rata-dependent on qualification and experience (Band 5 Equiv) - For a **14-hour week over 2 days - Monday & Tuesday (TBC)

7 each day** some flexibility required

Headway Birmingham & Solihull are a leading ABI - Acquired Brain Injury Charity.

We are excited to be starting a new service in April 2023. This will be a Wellbeing Hub, where as part of their programme, brain injured people will be able to access Physiotherapy, SALT and a variety of Wellbeing sessions. This will be in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis.

Our clients will have been through formal clinical rehabilitation, however, for many, whilst this can be the start to getting on the road to recovery, they often have some specific issues that need further support.

An acquired brain injury can be a journey travelled for the rest of their lives and they may find they have changing needs at different points of the journey.

We are seeking someone part time, but there is the opportunity for this to grow into a full time post if they so wish.

It would suit either someone newly qualified or perhaps even semi-retired who has an interest in brain injury.

Job Summary:
-
Ø To work as an integrated part of the multi-professional team (Physio, OT and SALT).

Ø To provide an accomplished speech & language service with the overall aim of offering programmes to include speech, social communication, language and swallowing.

Ø To assist with the development of the therapy services, through evaluation, suggestions and ideas.

Ø To provide SALT assessment of clients and to deliver a clinical based, individualised treatment programme, working with Therapy Helpers to deliver 1 to 1 and group sessions.

Ø To supervise and support the Therapy Helpers

Ø To deliver/support wellbeing sessions were required.

Experience and requirements:
-
Ø Degree or equivalent within SALT/HCPC registered as a qualified Physiotherapist

Ø Willing to manage own continued learning and registration

Ø Previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury is desirable, but not essential.
