HR ASSISTANT/PA TO SENIOR TEAM

BASED AT MGTS, COVENTRY


MGTS is an innovative and resourceful leader in the provision of workforce development solutions through education, training and assessment providing apprentice training as well as a full range of commercial courses.

The post involves acting as HR Assistant and Personal Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

The Senior Team comprises of CEO, Director of Finance & HR, Director of Delivery & Development, Quality & Compliance Manager & Customer Engagement Manager.

The following skills and knowledge would be advantageous:

  • Experience in a HR/Recruitment role.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Experience working as a Personal/Executive Assistant
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)

Role requirements:


  • The ability to work quickly, accurately and discreetly, using an organised approach and with excellent attention to detail.
  • Selfstarter with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • First rate interpersonal and relationship management skills at all organisational levels.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure, prioritise and multitask.
  • Driving licence

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform day to day HR activities including; staff recruitment and onboarding, recording of annual leave, Continuous Professional Development and training and any other HR functions.
  • Administering the SLT diaries, taking the initiative to schedule or reschedule meetings when necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of meetings, including research and supplying background information, preparation of agenda and all reports, attending designated meetings and minute taking where necessary.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the MGTS Single Central Record.
  • Controlling the business support contracts, including transport, cleaning and catering.
  • Organisation of apprentice graduations and any other events as required.
  • Acting as a buffer to incoming contacts and diverting/delegating actions where appropriate.
  • Facilitating communications between the engineering centres at Coventry and Redditch.
  • Review processes and suggest efficiencies where appropriate.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday - 36 hours
