Overview of Role
H&M Distribution are actively looking for an experience FTL UK Transport Broker to join their friendly team within their Newton-le-Willows Depot.
As FTL UK Transport Broker, you will be responsible for daily brokerage operation.
Ensuring all Internal and 3rd party resources are matched to 3rd party and internal activity with cost control being forefront.
You will manage the customer routes and carriers effectively whilst minimising costs.
The role requires a strong communicator with effective interpersonal skills as well as the capacity to operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties - Brokerage General Haulage
- Managing the daily route planning process to ensure that collections and deliveries are successfully completed and that routes are commercially beneficial
- Planning and tracking the general activity profit
- Continually reviewing plans to ensure they are efficient and costeffective
- Working closely with the Transport department to offer support with any sub contraction
- Managing accurate ETA's and daily POD clearance ensuring any repeated issues are escalated to the Brokerage General Manager
- Ensuring all runs are issued and drivers depart in a timely manner.
- Responsibility for ensuring carrier legal compliance and drivers' hours, defect reporting and tachograph rules are adhered to.
- Matching subcontract options for internal customer demand and external customer requirements
- Completing daily checks on all hauliers, ensuring planned vehicles are running to travel time in terms of collections and deliveries
- Ensuring the daily tracker is kept up to date with each routes detail
- Weekly summary completed for invoicing purposes
- Logging any service issues and reasons for any delays
- Sourcing ad hoc business to complement internal fleets and subcontract carrier availability
- Assisting in achieving budget values, revenue, cost and profit and delivery of savings
- Managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to meet contractual terms and H&M expectations
- Maintaining excellent working relationships with all sites, key stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
- Working closely with different departments and gaining their knowledge in order to maintain an effective and seamless operation
- Maintain knowledge of the Health, Safety and Quality Management, in order to confidentially address noncompliance and create a positive workplace culture.
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience within a similar role
- Proficient knowledge of transport legislation
- Comprehensive UK geographical knowledge
- Excellent problemsolving skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to work with all levels of the organisation and depots
- Ability to prioritise large volumes of demands and tasks
- Strong influencer and instil confidence will all levels of the team
- Strong attention to detail
- Multtasking skill and good organisational abilities

£35,000 per annum plus ability to achieve quarterly bonus scheme

Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7am - 5pm
