We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR advisory team of 4 delivering HR advice, guidance and support to our 800 colleagues.

The role is engaging, wide ranging and every day will bring you a new professional challenge.


About you.


You'll be an experienced CIPD Level 5 qualified HR professional, able to interpret existing policies, changing employment legislation and HR best practice within wide ranging contexts.


As an excellent communicator, you can build strong and effective relationships across all colleagues and be able to influence HR decisions.


You will be able to use your initiative to effectively prioritise a varied workload, you'll be committed to providing professional support across the Council.


You will have proven experience of strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to keep calm under pressure and meet deadlines.


About the role.


This a truly HR generalist role, meaning you will have wide ranging experience in all areas of HR advisory support.

You will support line managers to resolve complex employee relation issues, remaining focussed on fair, risk assessed solutions.


You'll be experienced in supporting managers and teams empathetically through employee change projects, whilst remaining compliant with HR best practice.


You will maintain and develop employment policies to reflect changing legislation, whilst ensuring they support the Councils corporate aims and culture.


You will develop and manage corporate HR projects, for example understanding the Councils reward and retention aims to deliver an effective employee reward package.


You will work closely with the Senior HR Advisor and Service Manager to deliver an effective HR Advisory service, whilst being supported to grow your own professional development.
