Gateways School are currently looking to appoint a School Minibus Driver to join the team as soon as possible.


We offer a 'door to door' service for our pupils where possible helping to ensuring a simple and safe journey to and from school.


Hours: 4 hours a day Monday - Friday during term time, plus staff training days and occasional events. The morning bus route is to drop pupils at school by 8.30am ready for the start of the school day, and the evening routes leaves school at 4.10pm.


Salary:
This position offers an annual salary of £9,360.


Deadline:4pm Monday 27th March 2023.

Responsibilities include

  • Driving a Gateways school minibus.
  • Collecting and dropping of pupils at their designated address on the bus route.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety, comfort of pupils and Staff.
  • Carrying out daily/weekly checks and basic maintenance (checking oil levels etc).
  • Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensuring your vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
  • Refuelling the vehicle as required.
  • Working within Health and Safety guidelines and other policies and procedures that may be issued periodically.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
  • Maintain accurate records of Staff/Pupils using the service each day.
  • Plan Alternative road routes to and from Gateways School when necessary and keeping the school and parents informed of any changes.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to safeguarding procedures.

Person Specification

  • Clean, current and valid driving licence (held for at least two years)
  • Experience of driving a large vehicle.
  • Pleasant, patient and helpful personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Flexible approach to working arrangements.
  • Good organisational ability.
  • Enjoy working in a School environment.
  • Be 25 or older for insurance purposes.
  • Geographical Knowledge of the local area
