DFDS are recruiting a Business & Part Loads Apprentice to offer exceptional customer service as part of our Immingham office team.

Duties include taking bookings, planning deliveries, export clearances, capacity planning and vessel planning.


Working week
Monday to Friday, between Exact shifts TBC)

Total hours per week: 40


What will the apprentice be doing?
A vacancy has arisen for a Business and Operations Apprentice, based at DFDS Logistics in Immingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast paced, growing business. The role is to deliver a high standard of customer service, building customer relationships and understanding their requirements

With full training and support, your principal responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver the highest level of customer service standards through understanding customers' requirements and giving clear and timely communication
  • Liaising with internal teams such as customs and transport planners to ensure achievement of plans
  • Monitor the status of each delivery and keep customers informed
  • Keep accurate records so that invoices, reports and statistical information can be produced
  • Problem solve and find solutions
  • Working with colleagues throughout Europe

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard - Customer Service Practitioner
A bespoke programme of practical, technical and vocational learning
Functional Skills in English and maths at Level 1 (if applicable)


What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

DFDS are offering this position for a new apprentice to join the business, to learn and support the delivery of exceptional customer service to our valued clients.

DFDS is a large organisation, with many different departments and locations. There is a view of the role progressing to a permanent career, with internal progression opportunities
