We are currently recruiting for the Hinkley Point C Project, for a Building Coordinator, who will work across programmes aligned to either plant islands or disciplined based scope.

Each programme will be delivered in part by EDF Nuclear New Build (NNB) resources and in part through one or more (interrelated) major contracts.

As the Building Coordinator, you will ensure delivery on all open points and construction changes within your designated building(s).

You will be reporting to the JDO Area Lead and will work closely with the Designer and Construction team to ensure compliance with the project schedule.

What you'll be doing
Working as part of the Joint Design Office (JDO) you will:

  • Operationally manage 10+ engineers working in various technical teams.
  • Monitor the performance of JDO for your respective buildings, using appropriate KPI and reporting.
  • Ensure all design and construction changes are delivered on time to meet Construction need.
  • Attend readiness reviews of Design Packages released for construction as and when required by design owners.
  • Work closely with the Design teams, Contractor and Construction teams to maintain technical quality responses (content / consistency / comprehensiveness / accuracy), construction programme and construction safety.
  • Actively report to the NI Engineering manager on risks and opportunities

Who you are

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in an Engineering Discipline (preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Civil).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to others.
  • Good problemsolving and leadership skills.
  • Deliveryoriented and ability to set action plans and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proactive, pragmatic and adopting a practical approach to resolve issues.

You may also have any of the following:

  • Previous experience as design engineer.
  • Previous experience working on site, ideally in a site engineering team.
  • Familiar with JDO processes and ways of working.
  • Understanding of Contract Management.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of the impact of change.
  • Familiarity with safety case process and design substantiation.
  • French language skills would be beneficial.
