Responsibilities include:
_ Operational_
- Chasing customers with reference to credit stopped reports, updated several times a day.
- Releasing orders which have been credit stopped if justified.
- Dealing with customer queries and sending copy invoices/delivery notes and liaising with other departments.
- Chasing customers for over 60 days debts by telephone, reminder letters and 7day letters referring accounts for legal action where required.
- Sort and send out monthly account statements (Excel where required) to customers whose account is overdue.
- Assist in the production of reporting information to Supervisor/Managers.
- Posting customers' cheques, BACS, cash and credit card payments on to several sales ledgers within G2B system (new system introduced March this year used throughout the group)
- Checking negative balances on the sales ledger and investigating to conclusion.
- Preparing banking/paying in slips.
_ Administrative_
- File customer and legal correspondence.
- Preparation instructions to solicitors/against to recover debts.
- Answer Call Centre telephone queries from customers, other branches and departments.
- Assist other personnel in the Accounts Department and in particular cover Sales Ledger staff during holidays and absence.
_Relationship_
- Liaison with Customer Services Department to ensure that credit policy is followed and that customer queries are resolved as quickly as possible.
- Liaise with other Branches, Departments, and their managers.
- Bring important matters to the attention of the Accountant and Directors.
- Overseeing the Sales Ledger Department and reporting to the Credit Control Supervisor.
Who would be the right fit?
- At least 1 years' experience in Credit Control.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Can work at a high pace to match the requirements of the business.
- Someone who can demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail.
