The Opportunity


The Principal Consultant (PC) is the technical implementer within their respective technology practice responsible for delivering against design, implementation, and test plans.

They take an active role in leading and supporting the wider team, working closely with Architects Consultants ensure adherence to the Block Delivery Model (BDM) maximising quality and efficiency.

In parallel, Consultants also support Blocks Project Management team delivering against out methodology to ensure a successful implementation and seamless delivery experience.

Consultants regularly draw upon their experiences to support the continuous improvement of solution design within practice.


Role Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Architects, the PC takes leads complex technical engagements delivering consistently and diligently on highquality design tasks through to client handover.
  • Creates highquality design documentation on engagementswith the support and guidance where necessary of the Architects.
  • Creates implementation and testing documentation inaccordance with Blocks delivery model and documentation standards.
  • Identifies, plans and executes against client training andhandover activities in support of successful adoption and great clientexperiences.
  • Supports presales providing input to solution designs, billof materials, project scoping ensuring the highest levels of quality andefficiency.
  • Acts as a figure of technical escalation and point ofguidance for respective practice Consultants and Engineers.
  • Oversees and supports client technology assessment tasks.
  • Works closely with Project Managers supporting the planningand ongoing management of tasks including risk identification, tracking ofactions, issues management and identifying dependencies.
  • Takes every opportunity to improve processes and methods toensure that Block is best positioned to deliver high value services to clients.
  • Effectively manages time and workload to ensure clientcommitments and deadlines are met.

Skills, Knowledge &Experience

  • CCNP qualified working towards a CCIE accreditation
  • Demonstrable experience and success in operating and delivering Collaboration environments.
Experience should cover some (ideally all) of the following:


  • Cisco Collaboration technology i.e.
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Cisco Unity Connections (CUC)
  • Cisco Unified Contact Centre (UCCX)
  • Cisco / Enghouse Attendant Consoles
  • Cisco Unified Border Edge (CUBE) gateway
  • Cisco WebEx Meetings, Calling, Devices and Contact Centre
  • Microsoft Office 365 Collaboration Services
  • Microsoft Teams Video, Voice, and Integrated Services
  • Experience in Cloud Collaboration services such as RingCentral, 8x8 or Mitel (Desirable)
  • Understanding of the support and managed service considerations associated with Collaboration solutions
  • Experience of working in healthcare and/or retail desirable.
  • Solid understanding of and experience working with complex technical delivery solutions.
  • Experience of articulating complex technical challenges to arrive at the right decision.
  • Flexible approach, with a willingness to travel to customers as required and go the extra mile to meet proposal, client and internal deadlines.
