Job description:

Applications are invited for the posts of Events Team Leader within our small, friendly Events Team.


We have a reputation for providing an excellent events management service and put our customers at the heart of everything we do.

You'll organise and manage a range of medium to large events and conferences at our sites and at other UK conference venues.

You'll also line manage events co-ordinators, who will work with you to deliver the larger events.

Person specification:


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strong customer-focused relationships with key clients and stakeholders, working with them to identify their event requirements on a year-to-year basis, to inform advance planning and event allocation within the team.
  • Coordinating the planning, operational and financial management and evaluation of large and complex events to provide a professional event management service to both internal and external clients,
  • Line managing, mentoring and developing College Event Coordinators, providing effective leadership and performance management for your team.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • A Level 4 qualification (eg HNC, BTEC Professional Certificate/Diploma, NVQ Level 4) in event management and/or demonstrable successful experience of working in an event management role
  • Experience of managing a wide variety of activities, multitasking and delivering to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Experience of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers

Technical skills:

We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Demonstrable successful experience of working in event management, project management or a related field.
  • Excellent standard of planning and organisational ability, able to prioritise own work and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask in a pressurised environment, leading and providing support to others in the team whilst simultaneously managing own events workload.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders, removing unnecessary barriers to service delivery.
