- This role is primarily based in the workshop, with occasional opportunities for work in the UK and overseas at NOV and customer sites.
- Handle workshop Service and lifting equipment safely and efficiently, following all applicable risk assessments and JSA's.
- Perform assembly, disassembly, and testing of tools according to Service Manual and Standard Service Procedure requirements to ensure top-quality service.
- Utilize measuring equipment proficiently and understand wear limit specifications to take accurate dimensional measurements of components.
- Review NDT Inspection Reports to validate component conditions, accurately enter data, and complete EDS Service documentation.
- Engage in 5S implementation and maintenance within the facility, ensuring adherence to 5S principles.
- Identify potential internal ITrax issues during incoming function testing, report findings to workshop Supervisors, and assist with tool investigations as needed.
- Support general workshop duties including tool cleaning/preparation, painting for dispatch, goods in-out handling, truck loading/unloading, and other ad-hoc tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotations as necessary.
- Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent (essential).
- Technical qualification related to the job role (desirable).
- Prior experience in a similar Service role (essential).
- Familiarity with Service Quality Systems and Processes (essential).
- Experience in tool servicing and workshop operations (desirable).
- Proficiency in using measuring equipment (desirable).
- Knowledge of Downhole Drilling Tools and servicing (essential).
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (essential).
- Effective communication skills (essential).
- Familiarity with NOV Service-related applications like EDS and systems such as TAT, JDE, etc., (desirable).
- Hands-on experience with essential workshop equipment including TM Unit, Overhead Crane, Forklift, Gas Safety, and Abrasive Wheels (essential).

Description
As a Service Technician at NOV Downhole, your main responsibility is to provide top-quality service for all tools following the NOV Service Manual guidelines, service standards, and Quality Management System procedures. You must perform all tasks while strictly adhering to Job Safety Analysis and related Risk Assessments. The role involves a variety of tasks, including understanding and complying with PPE, Quality, and HSE Policies. While the primary focus is on servicing Downhole Drilling, Fishing, and ICT Tools, there are additional general workshop duties to support operations. Service personnel are also accountable for maintaining workshop cleanliness and organization to create a safe and efficient work environment.
