Reed are currently seeking a Global Logistics Manager for one of our most prestigious clients based in Sowerby Bridge.

We are looking to appoint a Global Logistics Manager, within a busy, fast-paced environment, to lead the logistics function in dealingwith domestic, European, and international shipping.

Fundamentally the role holder will be responsible for the smooth, effective shipping operations of the company, whilst striving for efficiencies and continual improvement.


  • Responsibilities for logistics practices and procedures for the UK, Dubai and Vietnam
offices

  • Lead and develop day to day shipping operations.
  • Prepare appropriate shipping documents; document information from freight
Inward Processing Relief (IPR), Outward Processing Relief (OPR) record keeping.

  • Letter of Credits and bonded warehousing knowledge.
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of legislative requirements and associated required
communication around any changes.

  • Ensure that all orders are sent out in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the Accounts department to release orders awaiting payment.
  • Respond to quote requests & bookings from customers (internal & External).
  • Attend required meetings to discuss all operations work alongside peer group.
  • Performance management and development of team.
  • Provide relevant coaching, guidance and mentoring to team.
  • Perform team management duties in accordance with employment law, through
effective engagement with the HR Manager.

  • Continually looking to identify improvements, cost saving initiatives and innovations
into the department and wider business.

  • Other adhoc duties as required by Directors.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Min 5 years in a similar role.
  • Experience of people management a must.
  • A proven track record in global freight, trade compliance and customs management.
  • Experience of coordinating logistics by air, sea, and land.
  • Experience of Letters of Credits.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Experience of ERP, Access Supply Chain is highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Office essential.
  • Ability to manage own time whilst working within a busy team and office.
  • Appetite to train for further qualifications where appropriate.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • This is a onsite role and does not involve working from home.
