Position: Senior Legal Counsel

Sector: Fin-Tech

Location: London with excellent hybrid working

Salary Guide: Market rate depending on experience level, plus bonus and benefits

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE as Senior Legal Counsel within an established In-House legal team in the Fin-Tech sector. The successful candidate will have experience in general commercial agreements, software licensing and/or BPO outsourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with sales teams to provide legal support, particularly in the areas of software licensing and BPO outsourcing.
• Draft and negotiate complex IT contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
• Provide expertise in data protection law, with a focus on its implications for software licensing and outsourcing agreements.
• Support the business in the context of funds, collective investment schemes, insurance or pension products, investment & wealth management platforms.
• Develop and maintain precedents and processes for commercial contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Manage a heavy workload, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

• UK Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
• Extensive experience in software licensing and/or BPO outsourcing.
• Strong working knowledge of data protection law.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating IT contracts.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to negotiate and draft commercial contracts independently.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage a heavy workload and meet deadlines.

• Possess a can-do attitude, a progressive personality, and enjoy engaging with internal team members as well as external clients.
• Attention to detail, professionalism, and pride.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Good working knowledge of the UK and/or Irish financial services regulatory environment, ideally with experience in custody and investment platforms.
• Experience with TUPE.
• Knowledge and understanding of revenue recognition.
