The Role:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to support M&G plc's plans in respect of Corporate Risk and Investment Solutions.

The role will involve supporting the capital modelling of new propositions and the developments required to the Internal Capital Model (ICM) and underlying processes to support this.


The role will be based in the PAC Capital Modelling team which is responsible for M&G plc's ICM that is used to calculate key Solvency II balance sheet outputs including the Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) and Risk Margin (RM) but is also used to for wider company solvency estimates and stress testing.


This role requires strong numerical and analytical skills and is suited to someone who has previous practical experience across a range of Finance specialisms building practical experience and a broader understanding of the function and/or wider business.


Key Responsibilities:

Delivery & Technical knowledge:

  • Support the capital modelling of new propositions and developments required to suite of tools to support this.
  • Develop a good understanding of the key businesslines and new propositions and how these behave under stress and are modelled in the ICM.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of M&G's Internal Capital Model (ICM).
  • Develop a strong knowledge of how both assets and liabilities are modelled in the ICM.
  • Work closely with other members of the wider capital modelling team to support highquality delivery of team output.

Problem Solving:

  • Ability to work independently and come up with new and independent solutions to problems.
  • Strong results analysis skills and ability to explain movements in modelled results.

Accountability:

  • Work closely with colleagues at different geographical location, ensuring seamless communications.
  • Seek and act on opportunities to develop wider and deeper technical and business understanding of capital models.
  • Take accountability of own work and ability to independently conduct peer review of colleague's work by replicating and crosschecking for correctness.
  • Liaise with the wider Finance teams to ensure reporting capabilities for new propositions are in place in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Monitor business and external developments related to own area of responsibility and propose consequent changes to established procedures.
  • Maintaining effective communication with Stakeholders and leadership team members.


  • Compliance

  • Ensure understanding and adherence to Prudential's Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Confidence & excellent communication
  • Good level of Stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of actuarial products.
  • Ability to effectively influence colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with others; develop positive networks and working relationships.
  • Excellent technical actuarial knowledge, with attention to detail.
  • Prior experience using modelling software and or capital modelling experience is desirable.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A nearly qualified member of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries and / or Indian Institute of Actuaries or individual that has worked in a Finance Reporting function previously.
